Obituary for William Bill Ege
WILLIAM "BILL" EGE, 82, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at his home. Bill was born December 29, 1928 in Newton Township, IL, to Everett and Velma (Reynolds) Ege. He was a 1946 graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. Bill served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from January 1947 and served for 3 years. He married Evelyn L. Storts in October 1982 in Fox Lake, IL. He was a long time established farmer in the Newton Township area and for the last 10 years, he was an over the road truck driver, owning his own truck. Bill was a member of the Garden Plain Presbyterian Church. His pride was his family and especially his grandkids. He was also an avid amateur radio operator. He never met a stranger. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Chickie"; one daughter, Barbara Ann Ege of Ocala, FL; two sons, Michael (Laura) Ege of Durango, CO and Steven Ege of Windsor Locks, CN; four step daughters, Linda (Mark) Moseley of Columbus, OH; Sandra (Mike) Jones of Columbus, OH; Michelle (Doug) Hemmingway of North Carolina; and Marianne (Jeff) Krebs of Reynoldsburg, OH; three step sons, Max "Skip" (Pam) Storts of Grove City, OH; Donald Storts of Pataskala, OH and Richard (Molly) Storts of Reynoldsburg, OH; thirty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Robert) Stone of Garden Plain, IL and Mervyn (Carl) Romano of Fallbrook, CA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one step son, Daniel Storts; two sisters, Bernice Scharfenberg and Marian Finnicum; one brother, Robert Charles Ege in infancy.
