Obituary for Vivian Marie Place
Vivian Marie Place, age 92, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her residence in Hayward, WI. She was born March 28. 1924 in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of John and Susan (Birely) Sykes.Vivian was united in marriage to Milford Gordon Place on November 18, 1941 in Missouri. Shortly after they were married, they moved to La Habra, CA. Vivian and Milford spent most of their working life living in the Rockford and Freeport areas. After retirement, they moved to Cable, WI later settling in Hayward, WI.She is survived by her beloved husband, Milford of Hayward; her children, James (Martha) Place of Cable, WI, John (Dorothy) Place of Hayward, WI, and Kari (Todd) Wheaton of South Beloit, IL; her grandchildren, Lila, Julien, Brian, Jason, Jared, and Justin; eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Donna (Lee) VanKampen of Morrison, IL and Bonnie (Ted) Kuhnen of Prophetstown, IL; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.In addition to her parents, Vivian is preceded in death by her son, Bill Place; her sister, Susan Cobb and Lela Haan; and her brothers, Bob. Dick, Ken, Bill and Ivan Sykes.
