Obituary for Vivian M. Sikkema
VIVIAN M. SIKKEMA, 77, of 1312 8th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at her home. Vivian was born March 5, 1933 in Fulton, IL, to James and Tena (Balk) Wilkins. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Fulton High School. Vivian married Harold P. Sikkema on February 10, 1950 in Fulton. She was employed by the former Burpee Seed Company in Clinton, IA. Vivian was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, the church"s Willing Workers, and the Coffee Break ministry. She also was active as a leader for RCYF and Christian Endeavor programs. Vivian was a member of the Whiteside County Home Extension, Harbor Crest Nursing Home Auxiliary and served as a Windmill volunteer. She enjoyed gardening and was a collector. Survivors include her husband, Harold; one daughter, Barb (Rich) Milton of Fulton, IL; one son, Paul (Lisa) Sikkema of Fulton, IL; five grandchildren, Colin Milton, Jeff Milton, Shane (Kelly) Sikkema, Patricia (Tim) Tammen, and Amanda Sikkema; one sister, Carol (Allen) Zuidema of Argyle, WI; three brothers, Phil (Joyce) Wilkins of Morrison, IL, Larry (Kay) Wilkins of Fulton, IL, and Gordon "Butch" (Joyce) Wilkins of Thomson, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
