Obituary for Sylvia Vos
SYLVIA VOS, 92, of 309 N. Grape Street, Morrison, IL, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Sylvia was born April 29, 1913, in Morrison, IL, to Harry and Ada (Eizenga) Housinga. She attended Whiteside County schools. She married Bert Vos on February 26, 1935. He died May 18, 1971. She was employed at the Morrison Ice Cooling Factory and Rich Toy Factory in Morrison. She had farmed along with her late husband in the rural Erie, IL area. Most recently, she was employed by Climco in Morrison until her retirement. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church"s Prayer Partners. She enjoyed playing cards and visits from friends and family. Survivors include two daughters, Vera L. Hamstra of Morrison, IL and Doris (Mrs. Dale) Bull of Fulton, IL; one son, Larry D. (Ellen) Vos of Morrison, IL; ten grandchildren, Kevin (Barb) Hamstra, Marsha Hamstra, Gregg (Tammi) Hamstra, Brad Hamstra, Arlyn (Lisa) Hamstra, Kent (Peg) Renkes, Mark (Jan) Renkes, Scott (Kelli) Vos, Gina Foster, Darren Vos; five step grandchildren, Debbie (Mrs. Larry) Stables, Dawn (Mrs. Al) Bohms, Deanne (Mrs. Keith) Fuller, Ginger (Mrs. Brad) Houston, and Holly (Mrs. Steve) Copeland; fourteen great grandchildren; fifteen step great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; four step great great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Della Housinga of Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; one brother, Kenneth Housinga and one sister, Agnes Eissens.
