Obituaries
RUTH LEONARD, 90, of Princeton, IA, died Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Premier Estates of Muscatine in Muscatine, IA.
There will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, IL with Rev. Toni Lucas of Albany United Methodist Church officiating. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established.
Ruth was born July 1, 1932 in Kewanee, IL to Sam and Bernice (Marley) Jenkin. She was a graduate of Lyons High School in Clinton, IA and received a teaching degree from Marycrest College in Davenport, IA. On June 15, 1952 she married Floyd H. Leonard Jr. in Clinton. She was a special education teacher in the Muscatine, Iowa school district. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, was an avid bird watcher and collected porcelain birds. Ruth enjoyed crafting and taught many people how to make porcelain dolls. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and traveling alongside her husband, Floyd.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd; one daughter, Sally Gorsuch of New Orleans, LA, one son, Larry Leonard of Letts, IA; one grandson, Derek Gorsuch; two great grandchildren, Corbin and Lydia Gorsuch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Donetta Johnson, and one brother, Donald Jenkin.
