Obituary for Ronald E. Tunnacliffe
RONALD E. TUNNACLIFFE, 62, of 13804 Rockwood Ct., Morrison, IL, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. Ronald was born May 4, 1948, in Ottawa, IL, to James and Clara (Hoffman) Tunnacliffe. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Grade School in Ottawa, and graduated from Marquette High School, Ottawa, IL, in 1966. He also attended two years at the Morrison Institute of Technology. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 " 1973, in Okinawa Japan. Ronald married Mary Null on November 5, 1983, in Morrison. He was employed by the Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company for 31 years, retiring in 2000. After retiring he was a custodian at Fulton Unity Christian High School,Fulton, IL, First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, Clinton High School, Clinton, IA and also Bluff Elementary and Washington Grade Schools in Clinton. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. Ronald enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed working in his yard. He also built 3 homes. In his free time he liked to travel. He also enjoyed playing with his dog, Suzy. No job was too big or too small; he was always available and eager to help. Survivors include his wife, Mary; one sister, Carol (Don) Underhill of Ottawa, IL; one sister-in-law, Barb Tunnacliffe of Loudon, TN; six nieces and seven nephews; sixteen great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Tunnacliffe.
