Obituary for Roger K. Keisel
ROGER K. KEISEL, 61, of 11289 Albany Road, Erie, IL, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Roger was born April 29, 1950 in Clinton, IA to Emmett M. and Helena H. (Hine) Keisel. He was educated in the Newton grade schools of rural Whiteside County and was a 1968 graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. Roger married Marlene F. Bielema on June 10, 1971 in Erie, IL. Roger was engaged in farming in the rural Erie/Albany area. He was a member of the Newton Township Board, past trustee of the Albany Fire Protection District and a member of the Silver King Antique Tractor Club. Roger enjoyed motorcycle riding, playing slow pitch softball and attending farm auctions. He was an avid Chicago White Sox, University of Illinois, and New York Mets fan. He coached Little League and greatly enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren. His dog, Toby, was one of his best friends. Survivors include his wife, Marlene; two daughters, Amber (Darrell) Dornbush of Erie, IL and Misty (Chad Alderks) Keisel of German Valley, IL; one son, Derek Keisel of Westerville, OH; three grandchildren, Kye Alderks; Molly and Kassie Dornbush; and one brother, Darrell (Janet) Keisel of Oglesby, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
