Obituary for Rodney D. Boelkins
RODNEY D. BOELKINS, 62, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton, IA.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date; the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. A memorial has been established.
Rodney was born May 8, 1955, in Morrison, IL, to Chester J. and Marian (Reedy) Boelkins. He was educated in the Fulton grade schools, and was a 1974 graduate of Fulton High School. He first married Janette Krueger in Clinton, IA, he then later married Lisa Rau in Neenah, WI. Rodney had been employed by J.T. Cullen in Fulton, then Ametek in the Quad Cities, and then at John Deere as a welder. The last 26 years he was employed as parts manager at Merema Brothers Inc. in Fulton. Rodney enjoyed being outdoors, especially deer hunting and spending time at the river. His greatest joy was time spent with friends at Ft. Myers Beach, FL.
Survivors include his father, Chet Boelkins of Fulton; three sisters, Sue (Richard) Gossard of Fulton, Mrs. Diane Milligan of Garden Plain, IL, and Mary (Jim) Ottens of Fulton; one brother, Terry Boelkins of Fulton; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian Boelkins and one brother in infancy, James Boelkins.
