Obituary for Rodney B. Phelps
RODNEY B. PHELPS, 54, of Prophetstown, IL, died Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Elizabeth, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. Cremation rites have been accorded, the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established.
Rodney was born September 2, 1966 in Lubbock, TX to Larry and Bonita (Hedrick) Phelps. He was a graduate of Jacksonville Christian Academy in Jacksonville, FL. He also attended Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL and Colorado Springs Bible College. On March 14, 1987 he married Meichelle L. Anderson in Sterling, IL. Rodney was a ten year veteran of the U. S. Air Force. For many years, Rodney was also pastor at Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown. Most recently he worked at Halo Branded Solutions in Sterling, IL. Rodney loved riding his motorcycle and going to drag races.
Survivors include his wife Meichelle of Prophetstown; his parents, Larry and Bonita Phelps; one sister, Stephanie Fraze of Prophetstown.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
