Obituary for Robert "Bob" Housby
ROBERT “BOB” HOUSBY, 72, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, October 18, 2019, at his home.
His funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Wiersema, pastor of Gateway Faith Fellowship in Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton. A memorial has been established by the family.
Robert was born February 9, 1947, in La Salle, IL, to John P. and Gertrude (Bernard) Housby. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bob married Lela M. Barsema on July 8, 2005, in Morrison, IL. He was employed at Tyson Foods in Joslin, IL. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He loved to play cards with his favorite being euchre. He helped family and friends anytime they would need help.
Survivors include his wife, Lela; four daughters, Lynette Perkins of La Salle, IL; Michelle (Richard) Bollitti of Ottawa, IL; Bobbie Jean Sack of Fulton, IL; and Kala Barsema of Clinton, IA; a son, Anthony Housby of Wisconsin; three grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy (Jerry) Bejster of Grandville, IL; Sandra (Kenny) Bland of Cherry, IL; and Hazel Conrad of Oglesby, IL; and one brother, James Housby of La Salle, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John R. Housby and Jessie Housby; six sisters, Margaret Ewing, Gertrude Garncarz, Thelma Conrad, Jackie Boyd, Melva Dilling, and Ella Davis; and two brothers, John Housby and Edward J. Housby Sr.
