Obituary for Richard L. Glazier
RICHARD L. GLAZIER, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, May 17, 2021 at Resthave Home in Morrison.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 21, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, with Rev. Dr. Michael Selburg officiating. There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 20th at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial to St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been established.
Rich was born November 27, 1938 in Moline, IL, to Kenneth Edwin and Pauline Marie (Massey) Glazier. He attended the rural Crouch School in Whiteside County and was a 1956 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. He married Nancy C. Shambaugh on June 6, 1958 in Morrison. Rich owned and operated Shambaugh Construction in Morrison since 1973. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, where he served as an elder and was the church’s handyman. For 28 years he served on the Morrison Fire Department. He was a member of the Morrison Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellow award, and a member of the Masons with the Morrison Dunlap Lodge #321 AF&AM. He was also a Little League coach and he enjoyed golfing and fishing. Rich made countless trips to watch his son coach the St. Joseph – Ogden football team and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Carol (Stephen) Wolf of Morrison; one son, Bob (Linda) Glazier of Ogden, IL; four grandchildren, Cassie Glazier, Jessica Glazier, Erica Wolf, and Collin Wolf; one sister, Donna (Richard) Jones of Prophetstown, IL; one brother, Les Glazier of Erie, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Karen Shrum; one brother, Alvin Glazier; one nephew, Rusty Jones; one niece, Annette Shrum.
