Obituary for Ray F. Morgan Sr.
RAY F. MORGAN, SR., 90, of 408 23rd Avenue North, Clinton, IA died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Eagle Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, IA. Ray was born December 15, 1918 in Thomson, IL, to Lee and Elizabeth (Miller) Morgan. He was educated in the Thomson and Fulton, IL schools. Ray served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Aviation Metalsmith Third Class, AMC and was stationed in the Allusion Islands. Ray married Janet Kenyon on March 29, 1941 in Clinton, IA. She died June 14, 1975. He later married Dolores Schroeder-Mahmens on February 24, 1978 in Clinton, IA. Ray was first employed at the milk factory in Argo Fay, IL. He then was engaged in farming in the Thomson, IL area. He next worked as a milk hauler for Sanitary Dairy in Clinton, IA and later as an over the road truck driver. He also worked as a custodian for the Clinton School System. Most recently, he was employed by the former Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. John"s Lutheran Church, Clinton AMVETS Post #28, and the Loyal Order of Moose " Lodge #363 all in Clinton. Survivors include his wife, Dolores; two daughters, Sandra Wiersema of Fulton, IL and Marianne (Robert) Gooding of Lincoln Park, MI; two sons, Ray (Tessa) Morgan, Jr. of Tucson, AZ and Lynn (Elaine) Morgan of Long Beach, MS; three stepdaughters, Carolyn (Gerald) Kramer of Albany, IL; Janice (James) Eggers of Clinton, IA, and Barbara Mahmens of Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; four brothers, Fay Morgan and three in infancy.
