Obituary for Paul C. Juist
PAUL C. JUIST, 86, of 1127 Valley View Drive in Fulton, IL died Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA.Paul was born on November 11, 1922 in Garden Plain Township, IL to Clarence and Jennie (DeWeerdt) Juist. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and attended Fulton High School. He married Genevieve M. VanZuiden on December 19, 1951 in Fulton, IL. Paul served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He engaged in rural farming in the rural Fulton area. He was employed by Laborers Union Local #309 with extensive work associated with the Nuclear Power Generation Station at Cordova, IL. Paul was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, IL and the church"s Bible Study Group. He was also a member of the American Legion Fulton Post #402 and the Fulton City Lodge #189 A.F. and A.M. He greatly enjoyed the coffee fellowship with his retired friends. Survivors include his wife, Gen; one daughter, Jolene (Roy) Carpenter of Fulton, IL; one son, Warren (Cheryl) Juist of Fulton, IL; four grandchildren, Travis and Shelby Carpenter and Alex and Sarah Juist; and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Bielema of Fulton, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gordon D. Juist; and two brothers, Gerald and Robert Juist.
