Obituary for Mitchell L. Tiesman
MITCHELL LEE "MITCH" TIESMAN, 72, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Mitch was born October 6, 1941, to Mitchell and Elva L. (Koser) Tiesman in Clinton, IA. He was educated in the Fulton Christian Grade School in Fulton, and was a 1959 graduate of Fulton High School. He married Ruth A. Deelsnyder on March 2, 1963, in Stephenville, Newfoundland. Mitch was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed for 10 years at the former Central Steel and Tube Company in Camanche, IA; he then was employed by Lamson and Sessions for 33 years, retiring in 2001. Most recently he was employed by the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home and he also volunteered at the Robert Fulton Community Center in Fulton. Mitch was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton. He was president and member of the Mississippi Rock River Bowling Association, and was secretary of the Cattail Bowling League. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. Mitch was an avid stock car racing fan. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one son, Todd Tiesman of Fulton, IL; three sisters, Phyllis (Arlyn) Dykhuizen of Sterling, IL, Linda (James) Dykstra of Morrison, IL and Bonnie Drake of Glendale, AZ; one brother, Doug (Kathy) Tiesman of Brooklyn Park, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carol Tiesman.
