Obituary for Michael J. Gerlach
MICHAEL J. GERLACH, 62, of 208 Douglas Street, Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at home. Mike was born October 20, 1947, in Sterling, IL, to Harold and Leona (Whittington) Gerlach. He graduated from Stockton High School in Stockton, IL. Mike was employed at Prophetstown Equipment for 32 years, and then later worked at Birkeys in Annawan, IL. He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing the lottery. Mike always had a beautiful garden and enjoyed canning. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears. Survivors include two daughters, Monica Davis of Des Moines, IA and Cassidy Lee of Cedar Rapids, IA; two granddaughters, Jaden Lee and Morgan Moore; two sisters, Kathleen (David) Dittmar and Marian Koester, both of Elizabeth, IL; two brothers, Larry Gerlach of Tampico, IL and Gerald (Linda) Gerlach of Stockton, IL; one brother-in-law, Jerry Kloepping of Lena, IL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Charlotte Kloepping and Lynnette, in infancy; one brother-in-law, Jim Koester; three nephews, Carl Van Horn, Danny Van Horn, Tim Koester.
