Obituary for Marian P. DeVries
MARIAN P. DE VRIES, 88, of Sunrise Terrace Care Center, Winfield, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the care center. Marian was born July 15, 1921 in Newton Township, IL, to Thomas and Jennie (Juist) Klimstra. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. Marian married Herman J. De Vries on November 26, 1948 in Newton Township, IL. He died June 25, 1991. Marian was a homemaker. She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton where she participated in the church"s Ladies Aid, Missionary Society, Adult Sunday School, and Willing Workers. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Tom) Mc Allister of Crawfordsville, IA and Karen (Tim) Schipper of Holland, MI; two sons, Richard (Kathy) De Vries of Appleton, WI and Larry (Susan) De Vries of Bettendorf, IA; eight grandchildren, Dawn (Mark) Wilkerson, Chad (Stephanie) Mc Allister, Nathan (Bekah) Schipper, Rachel (Shawn) Brink, Taryn (Kurt) Bullis, Jill (Michael) Besley, Roger (Mandy) De Vries, and Andrew De Vries; six great grandchildren, Trent and Afton Wilkerson, Corinne and Lillian De Vries,Juniper Bullis and Marek McAllister; one brother, Roland Klimstra of Erie, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandson, Scott De Vries.
