Obituary for Maria L. Huizenga
Maria L. Huizenga, 74, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at CGH Medical Center, in Sterling, IL.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow the visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. A memorial has been established.
Maria was born October 25, 1946, in Thomaston, GA to Henry J. and Mildred C. (Reeves) Forster Sr. She was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Morrison High School. She married Howard O. Wintjen in 1965 in IL. They later divorced in 1984. She then married Ronald G. Huizenga on April 10, 1998, in Las Vegas, NV. He died August 13, 2006. Maria worked at General Electric in Morrison for 30 plus years until retiring. She loved golfing and bowling. Maria enjoyed doing crosswords, puzzles, word searches, and playing cards and board games.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindy (Michael) Imel of Morrison, IL; one son, Sonny (Tina) Wintjen of Fulton, IL; one stepdaughter, Laura Allen of Clinton Township, MI; one stepson, Rich Huizenga of Morrison, IL; six grandchildren, Erin Shepard, Heather Fischbach, Chole Stingley, Zackery Brown, Michaella Brown, Branden Head; three step grandchildren, Addison Huizenga, Austin and Shane Allen; five great-grandchildren, Kailyn Humphrey, Karleigh Humphrey, Drake Rangel, Addison Benters, and Thomas Brown; three sisters, Ruby Thorton of Fulton, IL; Patricia Meder of Louisville, KY; and Marilyn Wilkens of Fulton, IL; two brothers, Albert “Sparky” (Cheryl) Forster of Morrison, IL; and Steven (Angie) Forster of Jacksonville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Howard and Ronald; and one brother, John H. Forster.
