Obituary for Mabel Hamilton
MABEL A. HAMILTON, 93, of Fort Wayne, IN, formerly of Prophetstown, IL died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mabel was born on August 12, 1916 in Lyndon Township, IL to John W. and Olive M. (Paddock) Ballard. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Morrison High School. She married Le Roy Hamilton on October 8, 1936 in Rock Falls, IL. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1981. Mabel was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and the Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Home Auxiliary. Survivors include one son, Frank L. (Marian) Hamilton of Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter-in-law, Jane Hamilton of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren, Christine (Carl) Zatkulak, Colleen (Brian) Champlin, Risa (Don) Shepler, Denise Schaeffer, Beth Hamilton, Brad (Michelle) Hamilton, Brian Hamilton; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Alta Koeppe of Corvallis, OR. She was preceded in death by three sons, Terry Hamilton and two in infancy.
