Obituary for Luella Deelsnyder
LUELLA DEELSNYDER, 90, of Sarah Harding Home, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, IA. Luella was born March 31, 1920 in Fulton, IL, to Louis and Mary (Newendyke) Buikema. She was educated in the Lockhart School of rural Whiteside County, IL. Luella married Robert J. Deelsnyder on February 2, 1938 in Fulton, IL. He died April 19, 1991. Luella did private duty house cleaning for many years. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton and the church"s Home Department. Luella enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, and doing craft work. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Roberta Bush of Erie, IL; Nancy (Ronald) Dykstra and Mrs. Wanda Huff both of Fulton, IL; three sons, Erwin (Sandy) Deelsnyder of Pekin, IL; La Verne Deelsnyder of Hampton, IL, and Warren (Earline) Deelsnyder of Fulton, IL; twenty grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and one brother, Louis (Helen) Buikema of Fulton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two sons-in-law, Dan Huff and Harvey Bush; two great grandchildren, Kevin Farrel and Shaun Tanner; seven sisters, Winnie Van Zuiden, Tena Sissing, Jennie Beckman, Nellie Klimstra, Lucy Pessman-Sissing, Dorothy Poel, and one in infancy; four brothers, Henry, Walter, and Marion Buikema and one in infancy.
