Obituary for Loretta Nagel
LORETTA D. NAGEL, 75, of 4167 Ward Road, Fulton, IL, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Loretta was born February 12, 1933, in Clinton, IA, to Dave and Bessie (Wiersema) Housenga. She was educated in the East Clinton, IL Grade School and graduated from Fulton High School. She married Delmar "Del" J. Nagel on March 24, 1956 in Fulton. He died January 17, 1997. Loretta was employed at Nielsen Clearing House and also at the Clinton Garment Factory, both in Clinton, IA. She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, and also was a member of the Fulton American Legion Women"s Auxiliary. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels Program in Fulton. Loretta enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables. She was an Avid Cubs, Bears and Fighting Illini Fan. Survivors include one daughter, Janet (Mrs. Bill) Miller of Indianola, IA; two sons, James (Marla) Nagel of North Aurora, IL and Dave Nagel of Aurora, CO; five granddaughters, Jenna and Stephanie Miller, Jamie, Jacquelyn and Jessica Nagel; three brothers, Bernie (Mary) Housenga, Delbert (Pat) Housenga and Arnie Housenga, all of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Del; one brother, Wilbur Housenga, in infancy.
