Obituary for Loretta Harter
LORETTA HARTER, 94, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the nursing home. Loretta was born October 7, 1915, in Lyons, IA, to Claus and Tessie (Aggen) Wierenga. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools in Morrison, IL. She married Paul L. Harter on June 18, 1947 in Ottawa, IL. He died May 2, 2005. Loretta worked for a manufacturing company in Sterling, IL. She later was employed as a private duty nurse while living in Decatur, IL. Most recently she worked as a nurse for Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. Loretta enjoyed bowling and participated in several Fulton, IL and Clinton, IA bowling leagues. She was an avid animal lover and loved her dogs, Jack and Jill. A memorial to Harbor Crest Nursing Home has been established. Survivors include one daughter, Rayetta (John) Insolia of Lemont, IL; one step daughter, Judy (Dewey) Deville of Deville, LA; six step grandchildren; eleven step great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Marie Francis of Lyndon, IL; two brothers, Carl Wierenga and Arlen Wierenga, both of Fulton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; one sister, Marjorie J. Bielema.
