Obituary for LaVerne Rose
LAVERNE ROSE, 86, of Windsor Manor in Morrison, IL, formerly of Chadwick, IL, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Windsor Manor. LaVerne was born June 2, 1931, in Fenton, IL, to Herman P. and Josephine M. (Buikema) Rose. He was a graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On October 18, 1955 he married Jennie C. Hook in Erie. She died December 4, 2009. LaVerne was first employed by Volckmanns in Morrison, and then was employed by the Morrison School District, retiring after 23 years. He was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison. LaVerne was a woodworker, and loved carving wood and make birdhouses. He also enjoyed upholstering furniture. Survivors include one son, Rodney (Geraldine) Rose of Chadwick, IL; one granddaughter, Annette Rose, of Chadwick, IL; one sister, Mrs. Jean Ann Blair of Erie, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jennie; one brother, Wayne Rose.
