Obituary for Joyce A. Schaver-Fowler
JOYCE A. SCHAVER-FOWLER, 74, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Dye officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established.
Joyce was born July 13, 1947, in Morrison, IL, to Andrew and Millie (Stuart) Schaver. She was educated in the Morrison Schools. She married Douglas E. Fowler, Sr. on February 15, 1974, in Morrison, IL. He died on June 18, 2000. She worked at Climco Coils for 33 years, from 1977 to 2010. Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing with her dog, Rocky. She found joy in traveling and getting out of the house whenever she was able, particularly when she could take her own vehicle. Joyce loved listening to Tim McGraw and Elvis.
Survivors include her mother, Millie Schaver of Morrison; one daughter, Jody Fowler-Bethel of Morrison; one son, David Fowler of Morrison; one stepdaughter, Debbie McCalmant of Cedar Rapids, IA; one stepson, Douglas E. “Chip” Fowler, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA; three grandchildren, Kelsie (fiancé, Mitch Edge) Bethel, Seth Fowler and Aiden Fowler; nine step-grandchildren, Krystle Fowler-Adney, Kassidy McCalmant, Aaran McCalmant, Allen McCalmant, Andrew McCalmant, Blake Fowler, Skyler Bethel, Jesse Bethel and Cassie (fiancé, Mack Graham) Engelkens; five step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon (Lewis) Webb of Morrison, Lorraine (Bruce) Shadle and Sandy (Dave) Henry both of Camanche, IA; two brothers, Allan (Georgia) Schaver and Ron (Nancy) Schaver both of Morrison; one sister-in-law, Linda Pyse in FL; one brother-in-law, Charles (June) Fowler of Morrison; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Schaver; husband, Doug; mother and father-in-law, Eleanor and Charles Fowler, Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Robert Fowler and Rich Shadle.
