Obituary for Jennie Decker
JENNIE DECKER, 98, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the nursing home. Jennie was born May 9, 1912 in Clinton, IA to Herman and Martha (Haan) Hine. She was educated in the East Clinton, IL grade school. She married Arthur Decker on March 2, 1933 in Fulton, IL. He died April 25, 1970. Jennie was a homemaker and worked for Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL for a short time. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton and the church"s Helping Hand Society through which she helped at many weddings and funerals. Jennie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and her outings on Fulton"s Senior Citizens bus. Survivors include one daughter, Wilma DeWeerdt of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, David (Jackie) DeWeerdt, Randy (Brenda) DeWeerdt, and Kim (Jeff) Nelson; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; two great grandchildren; one sister, Helena Keisel and one brother, Fred Hine.
