Obituary for Jeanette Schaver
JEANETTE SCHAVER, 86, of rural Albany, IL, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility in Clinton, IA. Jeanette was born June 19, 1921, in Fulton, IL, to William and Reka (Pessman) Buikema. She was educated in the Fulton schools and married Jacob J. Schaver on May 11, 1940, in Clinton, IA. He died on April 12, 1975. Jeanette farmed with her husband in the rural Albany area for many years. She was a charter member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, where she was involved in the Hannah circle. She was known in the Albany area for her cooking and baking and she enjoyed going out to eat with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (Mrs. James) Rathje of Fulton and Carol Stash of Albany; four sons, Kenneth W. (Barbara) Schaver of Morrison, IL, Donald J. (Marilyn) Schaver of Albany, Harlan (Evelyn) Schaver of Fulton, and Robert W. (Deb) Schaver of Albany; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Damhoff of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob.
