JAMES “JIM” SCHIPPER, 58, of Hillsdale, IL, died Monday July 22, 2019 at his home.

Jim was born December 25, 1960 in Clinton, IA, to Kenneth Schipper and Donna Lynn Juist. He attended Geneseo, IL schools and was a 1979 graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. He then attended Blackhawk Community College. Jim worked as a farmer, hauling grain and working on his tractors. He owned and operated his own truck, and drove for Ace Doran Hauling and Rigging. He received the Million Mile Award as a truck driver. Jim loved racing with his family. He enjoyed the mudd boggs at the Bike Barn in Fenton, IL and also drag racing at the Cordova, IL Drag Strip. When Jim was younger he went trail riding and participated in horse shows with his mother. Jim collected and restored Allis Chalmers tractors with his father and family, and had one of the largest collections in the area, with around forty different tractors that he showed at fairs and parades. For many years Jim was with the County Line Cruisers Car Club out of Erie. He was very involved in the community, volunteering and organizing events like movie nights and parades in Hillsdale. He was a man of routines: he went to breakfast everyday at the Pink Pony in Erie, and spent every Sunday night eating Pizza at Bushy’s in Lyndon, IL. He enjoyed socializing with his friends at the Hillsdale Legion, and enjoyed listening to the old country and classic rock on the radio; his favorite band – AC/DC. He would often just jump in his truck to ride around. He loved fireworks and never missed a show. He always made time to see his friends in need, he was a good friend.
