Obituary for Henry C. Meinsma
HENRY C. MEINSMA, 89, of 708 Fowler Road, Fulton, IL died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL. Henry was born on December 13, 1919 in Fulton, IL to Charles and Anne (Wiersema) Meinsma. He was educated in the rural Fulton grade schools. He married Marian A. Beveroth on February 5, 1941 in Morrison, IL. Henry engaged in farming in the Malvern area of rural Morrison. He then was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad. For most of his working career he worked as an auto mechanic for Schuler Motors in Morrison, IL and Frank Baker Ford Sales in Fulton, IL. Henry was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL. He was also a member of the Double-I Antique Auto Club. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on and showing his antique cars and trucks. Survivors include his wife, Marian; two daughters, Betty (Dan) Holesinger of Fulton, IL and Susan (Dean) Buhlig of North Platt, NE; five sons, Gerald (Marcia) Meinsma of Morrison, IL, Kenneth Meinsma of Morrison, IL, James (Jodi) Meinsma of Middleburgh, NY, Donald Meinsma of Fulton, IL, and Darrell (Sally) Meinsma of Fulton, IL; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (Orville) Buikema of Clinton, IA; and one brother, Wilbur Meinsma of Albany, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Meinsma; two sisters, Alice Sikkema-Tiesman and Mary Ann Engelkens; and one brother, John Meinsma.
