Obituary for Grace Evaline Hartman
GRACE EVALINE HARTMAN, 98, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Carroll, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 - 9:00 PM on Saturday March 17th, at the Cattail Park Lodge in Fulton. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Grace was born December 12, 1919, in Fulton, IL, to Cornelius and Anna (Stuart) Zuidema. She attended the Otter Bluff School in rural Whiteside County, IL. On June 28, 1946 she married Arnold A. Hartman in Dubuque, IA. He died December 10, 2007. Grace had work at the Clinton Garment Factory, Burpee Seed Company, Rich’s Toy Factory and the Alcohol Plant, all in Clinton, IA. During WWII she was employed at the Green River Ordinance Plant in Dixon, IL. Grace had attended the Spring Valley Reformed Church, Trinity Reformed Church and Assembly of God Church all in Fulton. She also attended the Pine Creek Independent Church in Dixon, IL. Grace and her husband, enjoyed gardening on their acreage near Morrison, IL.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Lindsay Hannan of Moline, IL, Melanie (Tom) Van Acker of Omaha, NE and Rachel Purcell of Clinton, IA; seven great grandchildren, Aaron Hasenmiller, Cade Hannan, Madison and Nadalie Burman, Vaughn, Lea and Marlee Purcell, Harrison Van Acker; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; one daughter, Vickie Purcell-Weaver; one son, Rex Hartman.
