Obituary for Faye Jansma
FAYE JANSMA, 81, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at her home.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Emmanuel Church in Morrison with Rich Criss, Ministry Coordinator at Emmanuel Church, officiating. A visitation will precede the service starting at 9:00 AM until the start of the funeral. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Faye was born September 16, 1940 in Morrison to William G. and Edna M. (Bush) Norman. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a Graduate of Morrison High School. She married Philip I. Jansma on February 27, 1959, in Morrison. He died March 25, 2014. Faye was first employed by Dr. Curt Groner. She was then employed at General Electric in Morrison and Smith Trust and Savings in Morrison. Lastly, she was employed at Resthave Home in Morrison. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in Ruth Circle. She was an avid bowler. Faye enjoyed the family tradition of going to Minocqua, WI on a yearly basis and doing Farmers Market with her daughters. After retirement, she cherished spending time with her family, especially babysitting Morgan and Greyson.
Survivors include three daughters, Ellen (Eric) Anderson of Prophetstown, IL, Gwen (Steve) Baar of Morrison, IL and Jaclyn (Mark) Claerhout of Geneseo, IL; eight grandchildren, Amanda (J.R.) Curtis, Devon (Mallory) Baar, Nickolas (fiancée, Brianne Snowden) Anderson, Mitchel (Danelle) Baar, Neil Baar, Kari (fiancé, Jerrod Reynolds) Anderson, Morgan Claerhout and Greyson Claerhout; eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phil; one granddaughter, Ashley Claerhout.
