Obituary for Emma Jane Hawk
EMMA JANE HAWK, 86, of the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA, formerly of Albany, IL, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Alverno. Emma Jane was born April 28, 1921, in Clinton, IA to Andrew E. and Edna V. (Mason) Bennett. She was educated in the Fulton, IL grade school and graduated from Our Lady of the Angels High School in Clinton, IA. She married Verle L. Hawk on June 28, 1941 in Fulton. He died July 22, 2003. Emma Jane, along with her husband, owned and operated the former Mississippi Bar in Fulton, IL. She also worked at G.E. Company in Morrison, IL for a number of years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton. Survivors include one daughter, Diane (Mrs. Jerry) Van Zuiden of Fulton; two grandsons, William (Elizabeth) Van Zuiden and Jeremy Van Zuiden, both of Fulton; seven great grandchildren; Jeff, Jennifer, Allison, Emma and Cassandra Van Zuiden; Lydia and Mara Bilyeu. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verle; one sister, Gladys Decker; two brothers, Raymond and Eugene Bennett.
