Obituary for Eleanor J. Schipper
ELEANOR J. SCHIPPER, 89, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL died Friday, May 9, 2008 at the nursing home. Eleanor was born February 13, 1919, in Morrison, IL to Henry and Fannie (VanDyke) Medema. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. She married Henry E. Schipper on September 26, 1939 in Morrison, IL. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1998. Eleanor worked at General Electric in Morrison, IL for 15 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL where she was involved in the Lydian Society. She was a member of the Resthave Nursing Home and Morrison Community Hospital Auxiliaries. Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Mrs. David) Hook of Morrison, IL, and Beth (Mrs. Gary) Milnes of Morrison, IL; one son, Harvey Schipper of Morrison, IL; eleven grandchildren, Susan (Mrs. Charles) Sedig, Michael Schipper, Jeffrey (Malinda) Hook, Pamela (Mrs. Todd) Muur, Robert (Tina) Wilson, Billy (Lena) Wilson, Becky (Mrs. Robert) White, Chad (Toni) Milnes, Mitchell (Leigh) Milnes, KC (Stephanie) Milnes, Bobbie Jo Milnes;six step grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Marian Houzenga of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; one daughter, Jerri Lynn Wilson; one granddaughter in infancy; one sister, Betty Schipper, and two brothers, Joseph and Alvin Medema.
