Obituary for Edwin J. Bush
EDWIN J. BUSH, 83, of 1311 4th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Edwin was born October 29, 1923 in Morrison, IL, to Dick E. and Fannie (Bruins) Bush. He was educated in the Morrison, IL grade and high schools, graduating in 1941. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. Ed had served in the U.S. Navy for over 5 years during WWII. He married Nora E. Ottens on July 1, 1949 in Morrison, IL. He was employed with the Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach and Santa Monica, CA and lived in Long Beach. He later accepted a position with International Harvester Company in Chicago, IL, where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1982. While employed at International Harvestor, he lived first in Chicago Heights, IL and later in Western Springs, IL. Ed traveled extensively for IH, servicing their plants in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. After retirement, for the next 8 years, he was employed part-time for Dic Drug Company in BurrRidge, IL. In 1991, he moved to Sun City West, AZ, where he lived until 1996, when he returned to Fulton, IL. Ed was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, a former member of the Christ Church of Oakbrook, IL, and a former member of the Homewood Reformed Church in Homewood, IL, where he served on the consistory. Survivors include his wife, Nora; one daughter, Linda (Mrs. Charles) Vaughn of Urbana, IL; three grandchildren, Timothy (Mai) Deal of Champaign, IL; Andrew and Peter Deal both at home.He was preceded in death by a sister, Viola L. Tervelt.
