Obituary for Edna K. Johnson
EDNA K. JOHNSON, 93, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Edna was born July 29, 1916 in Fulton, IL, to John and Gertrude (Norman) Tiesman. She was educated in the Christian Schools in Fulton, IL. Edna married John "Jack" Johnson on August 17, 1941 in Kirksville, MO. He died October 12, 2003. Edna helped her father with truck farming and later was employed by Maple Lane Motel in Fulton. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. Edna was a homemaker who loved to sew, embroider, and to do her seek-a-word puzzles. She also enjoyed playing board games and cards with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy DeWeerdt of Silvis, IL and Bonnie (Mike) McClary of Fulton; two sons, Larry (Anni) Johnson and Bill (Marlene) Johnson both of Fulton; seven grandchildren, Eric (Candace) Johnson, Ron Johnson, Michelle (Dean) Pingle, Tammy Brewer, Kim (Dino) Bruce, Mike (Jenny) McClary, and Stephanie Hochbaum; ten great grandchildren; and one brother, Dave Tiesman of Clinton, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Susan McClary; and eight brothers, Ben, Henry, Hie, Albert, Claus, Joe, and Edward Tiesman and her twin brother, Mitchell Tiesman.
