Obituary for Dorothy Burke Hogue
DOROTHY BURKE HOGUE, 88, of Morrison, IL died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL. Dorothy was born March 10, 1923 in Junction City, KY to M. Glynn and Nancy (Fox) Burke. She was a graduate of Junction City High School. Dorothy married Maurice E. Hogue on August 17, 1941 in Louisville, KY. He died August 19, 1976. She worked for KEM Apparel in Morrison for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morrison where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Morrison Womens Club for many years and had volunteered as a pink lady at the Morrison Hospital. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include two sons, Ronald L. (Joyce) Hogue of Morrison, IL and Barry (Joyce Anne) Hogue of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; six grandchildren, John (Terri) Hogue, Jennifer Hogue, Sean Hogue, Devin (Emily) Hogue, Gina (Dean) Schellhase, and Allison Wickey; nine great grandchildren, Alex and Austin Hogue, Adam and Kristin Friedrich, Calvin and Cameron Wickey, Colton Schellhase, Hallie and Haden Hogue; one sister, Ann (John) Young of Hampstead, NC; and one brother, Sam (Mary Ann) Burke of Danville, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice ; one son, Donald in infancy; and one brother, M. Glynn Burke.
