Obituary for Donald W. Scott
DONALD W. SCOTT, 86,of Prophetstown, IL, died Wednesday June 27, 2018 at C.G.H. Medical Center in Sterling, IL.Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation. A private graveside service and internment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Donald was born June 15, 1932, in Prophetstown, IL to Ward and Areta M. (Bane) Scott. He was a graduate of Prophetstown High School. He married Norma M. Olinger in 1979. She died August 20, 2002. Donald was an electrician. He then was a custodian at the Prophetstown High School. Following retirement from the high school he worked at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. He was a member of the Kentucky Long Rifle Club and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Survivors include one step-son, Michael (Beth) Olinger of Prophetstown; a step-grandson, Gabe (Nicole) Olinger; two step great grandchildren, Gavin and Avery Olinger; one brother, Paul Dean Scott of Fort Smith, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Areta; one step-son, Perry Olinger.
