Obituary for Chris E. Decker
CHRIS E. DECKER, 55, of 131 Cedar Heights, Camanche, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Chris was born June 27, 1957, in Clinton, IA to Marvin and Betty (Speakman) Decker. He attended Clinton Community College in Clinton, IA and Hamilton Technical Institute in Davenport, IA, where he received his Associates Degree. On September 2, 2005 he married Jolene Dunn in Clinton, IA. Chris was employed by the former Eagles Grocery Store, International Paper, Hy-Vee, and then Wal-Mart, all in Clinton. Most recently he was employed by G4S Wackenhut as a security guard for ADM in Clinton. Chris was a video gaming enthusiast, enjoyed reading books, listening to music, and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed horseback riding and spending time with his dogs, Cooper and Prince. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan. Chris made it a point to call his father at least once a day and he also enjoyed brightening Jolene"s day by texting her when he wasn"t able to be with her. Survivors include his wife, Jolene of Camanche, IA; one daughter, Heather (Mike) Davis of Wood Dale, IL; one son, Jason Decker of Morrison, IL; one granddaughter, Demi Zigler; his father, Marvin Decker of Fulton, IL; his mother and father-in "law, Joseph and Janice Dunn of Goose Lake, IA; two sisters-in-law, Belinda (Al) Sullivan of Preston, IA and Brenda Dunn of Goose Lake, IA; close friends, Bill Ainsworth and Rob Keen. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Decker, and one aunt, Lois Decker.
