Obituary for Beulah D. Nice
BEULAH D. NICE, 93, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Monday, May 15, 2006 at the nursing home. Beulah was born January 10, 1913, in Clyde Township of Whiteside Co., IL to Abner A. and Esther (Deter) Nice. She graduated from Hesston Academy, Hesston, KS in 1936. In 1940 she received her nursing degree from the Mennonite School of Nursing in La Junta, CO. Later she received her B.A. in nursing from Goshen College in Goshen, IN, graduating in 1949. She returned to La Junta, CO to teach and supervise in the obstetrics department and then moved to Bloomington, IL in 1957 to teach nursing at the Mennonite Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1979 and moved to Morrison. She was a member of the Science Ridge Mennonite Church in Sterling, IL. Survivors include two sisters, Rachel Nice of Morrison, IL and Hazel (Mrs. Richard) Hassen of Goshen, IN; one brother, Aaron Nice of Morrison; one sister-in-law, Mary Nice of Morrison, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Nice, and one niece.
