Obituary for Bernice K. Sikkema
BERNICE K. SIKKEMA, 81, of 20366 Acker Road, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Bernice was born June 4, 1925 in Fulton, IL, to John and Margaret (Balk) Klimstra. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Bernice married Allen Sikkema on September 17, 1943 in Fulton. He died July 2, 2005. She was employed by the former A.C. Nielsen Coupon Clearing House in Clinton, IA, then employed as a cook at the former Brick House Restaurant in Morrison, IL, and most recently as Pro Shop manager at the Fulton Country Club in Fulton. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton and past president of the Fulton Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She enjoyed golfing and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Sherry (Mrs. Rick) Beckhart of Bonita, CA; Barbara (Mrs. James) Mc Climon of Runnels, IA; and Nancy (Mrs. Dave) Hanson of Dubuque, IA; one son, Gregg (Krista) Sikkema of Fulton, IL; eight grandchildren, Michael (Christy) Beckhart, Samantha Beckhart, Erin and Courtney Mc Climon, Michelle and Elizabeth Hanson, Klark and Kiana Sikkema. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; one son, Allen Sikkema, Jr. in infancy; and one sister, Alvina Klimstra.
