Obituary for Arthur C. Eltrevoog
ARTHUR C. ELTREVOOG, 90, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the center. Art was born May 3, 1921, in Plattville, IL, to Andrew and Kristine (Myer) Eltrevoog. He was educated in the Edcomb School District #182, in Waltham Township, IL. He married Jane C. Stone on August 29, 1943, in Ottawa, IL. She died on September 2, 1985. Art served in the U.S. Army. He was first employed by the IL Department of Transportation. He then moved to Colorado and became employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation as a truck scale operator at the port of entry in Lamar, CO. He was a life-time member of the American Legion Post #1191 in Hooppole, IL. He was also a member of the Sons of Norway in Minneapolis, MN and the Calvary Evangelical Congregational Church in Hooppole, where he had served as Superintendent of Sunday School. Art enjoyed traveling, collecting ink pens and hats, and also carpentry work " as a hobby. Survivors include one daughter, Valerie (Richard) Butler of Murphy, NC; several grandchildren; one sister, Helen P. (Glen) Marten of Ottawa, IL; three brothers, G. Howard Eltrevoog, Truman J. Eltrevoog and Orville A. Eltrevoog, all of Ottawa, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; one daughter, Kathleen Ebersole; one son, Leon Eltrevoog; one sister, Bertha M. Eltrevoog in infancy; three brothers, Ebert N., Lawrence B. and Barney M. Eltrevoog.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, ILOFFICIATING: Rev. Andy Ploenzke, Pastor, First Congregational United Church of Christ in Prophetstown, ILVISITATION 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home INTERMENT Hooppole Cemetery - Hooppole, IL; with graveside military funeral honors
