Obituary for Alta L. Stiles
ALTA L. STILES, 86, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL. Alta was born July 16, 1920, in Clinton, IA, to Leonard A. and Edna I. (Mess) Porter. She was educated in the rural Carroll County grade schools. She married Wilbur E. Stiles on October 8, 1942 in Wayland, MO. He died February 7, 1994. Alta and her late husband farmed in the rural Savanna, Fairhaven and Argo Fay areas before moving to Mt. Morris, IL in 1957. She the worked for the Cable Printing Company in Mt. Morris until her retirement and later moved to Fulton. She attended the Argo Fay United Methodist Church and was a member of Women of the Moose " Loyal Order of the Moose, Clinton, IA Lodge. She enjoyed walking, camping and fishing. Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Mrs. Larry) Naeve of Fulton, IL; two grandchildren, Douglas Naeve and Tori (Mrs. Mark) Wade, both of Fulton, IL; two great grandchildren, Jessi Naeve and Natalie Wade; her twin brother, Alvin Porter of Folletts, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; one son, Terry Stile; one brother, Harold Porter.
