Obituary for Richard "Dick" Loy
RICHARD “DICKIE-DO” LOY, 83, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his home.

Cremation rites will be accorded; there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life for Dick and his wife Barb will be held at a later date. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dick was born October 8, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to William and Ella (Schenk) Loy. He was educated in Chicago grade schools and was a 1952 graduate of Steinmetz High School in Chicago. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a demolition specialist and parachutist in the 503 infantry regiment at Fort Campbell. On June 4, 1960 he married Barbara A. George in Morrison, IL. She died on January 4, 2018. He worked as a brick layer for Groharing Construction and later started his own contracting company. Dick was a member of the Morrison American Legion and the Morrison Country Club. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing and playing cards. He loved coaching Little League baseball, and was an avid Green Bay Packer and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Memorials have been established for The Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Center in Dixon, IL and Rock River Hospice of Sterling, IL.

Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Loy of Chicago, IL, Wendy Loy of Indiana and Deborah (Todd) Etheridge of Dixon, IL; one son, Dick (Bonnie) Loy Jr. of Keystone, IA; five grandchildren, Rich (Crystal), Becky (Mason), Mitchell, Logan and Nolan; four great grandchildren, Bryer, Beckham, Audrey and Blakley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barb; two brothers, Edward and William Loy.
