Obituary for William "Bill" Johnson
WILLIAM “BILL” JOHNSON, 73, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the University of IA Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Edie Lenz, pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 28th at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established by the family.

Bill was born May 2, 1944, in Clinton, IA, to John “Jack” and Edna K. (Tiesman) Johnson. He was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a 1962 graduate of Fulton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On May 21, 1993 he married Marlene M. Engelkens at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Bill worked at Clinton Corn Processing for 20 years and then was employed with Drives in Fulton, retiring after 22 years. He was a member of the Fulton American Legion Post #402. Bill enjoyed fishing, traveling and attending stock car races.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; two daughters, Tammy (fiancé Airec Allbritton) Brewer of Normal, IL, and Michelle (Dean) Pingel of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, Ronnie Brewer, Zachery Brewer, Marcus Graham, Misty Graham, Tanlynn (Jake) Bushnell, Olivia Allbritton; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy DeWeerdt of Silvis, IL and Bonnie McClary of Fulton, IL; one brother, Larry (Anni) Johnson of Fulton, IL; mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Engelkens of Fulton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Ikey Engelkens; a brother-in-law, Mike McClary.
