Obituary for Marvin J. Huizenga
MARVIN J. HUIZENGA, 92, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Bickford Cottage in Clinton, IA. Marvin was born March 26, 1923, in Fulton, IL, to John M. and Elsie (Bielema) Huizenga. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1941 graduate of Fulton High School. Marvin married Genevieve R. Foster on October 7, 1947, in Morrison, IL. She died April 14, 2009. Marv was first employed as tool maker for the former Patent Novelty Company in Fulton and later for the Climax Company in Clinton, IA and Clinton Manufacturing in Camanche, IA. Most recently, he was employed by General Electric in Morrison, IL, retiring in 1984. Marv was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. He enjoyed going to antique farm equipment shows and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth (Robert) Fatchett of DeWitt, IA; one son, Kenneth (LaVonne) Huizenga of Morrison, IL; seven grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Huizenga, Rebecca Huizenga, Matt (Amanda) Huizenga, Britni (Brett) Hartman, Rachel (Justin) Grager, Rhonda (Kyle) Jensen, and Ryan Fatchett; nine great-grandchildren, Anna, Lydia and Bethany Huizenga; Allison and Ethan Grager; Amaryllis and Porter Jensen; Tayla and Ephraim Hartman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve; and one sister, Alice Mae Huizenga.
