Obituary for Doris M. Kramer
DORIS M. KRAMER, 81, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Doris was born April 29, 1934, in Garden Plain, IL, to Chester W. and Helen L. (Sanders) Cross. She was educated at Cedar Creek School in Garden Plain, and graduated from Fulton High School. She married Henry Kramer Jr. on January 16, 1952 in Garden Plain. Doris was a homemaker until her children entered school. She then joined her husband in owning and operating The Fulton Journal for over 35 years. She was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church. She served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Fulton Press, Inc., and was a member of the Fulton Sesquicentennial Committee. Doris was an avid seamstress and enjoyed machine embroidery. She made clothing for the family, such as Dutch costumes and sports coats. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Henry Kramer Jr.; two sons, Michael A. (Melinda) Kramer of Fulton and Wayne J. (Christine) Kramer of Richland, MI; six grandchildren, Christy (Aaron) Hackett, Scott (Sarah) Deters, Melanie (Manreet) Kalyan, Michelle (Orian) Hinrichs, Benjamin Kramer, Rachel Kramer; six great grandchildren, Adam Deters, Ariana Kalyan, Annaka Hackett, Wesley Hackett, Reece Kramer, Dylan Kalyan; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Reynolds of Sterling, IL, and Mrs. Nancy Rector of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Debra E. Kness; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Kramer.
