Obituary for Irene Kramer
IRENE KRAMER, 93, of Prairie Hills at Clinton in Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Irene was born November 9, 1921, in Fulton, IL, to Jay and Anna (Heun) Hoogheem. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She was proud of only having missed two days in twelve years of school attendance. Irene married Elmer Kramer on September 9, 1940, in Fulton, IL. He died January 27, 1998. She was employed by the former Clinton Garment Company in Clinton, IA. Most recently, she was employed as custodian for Fulton Library, First Reformed Church, and Medical Associates in Clinton, IA. Irene was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton and the church"s King"s Daughters. She served as Sunday School teacher and as a counselor at Camp Emmaus. Irene lived in the same block in Fulton for 91 years. She also enjoyed reading books from the church library. Survivors include one daughter, Sandy (Larry) Senior of Fulton, IL; one son, Ken (Debi Bousman) Kramer of Clinton, IA; seven grandchildren, Andrea (Joel) Brondyke, Cory Senior, Jason (Cara) Kramer, Benjamin (Lindsay) Kramer, Kasey (Josh) Rosburg, Morgan Guthrie-Kramer, Mackenzie (Alex) Zacholski; ten great-grandchildren, Rachel (Ben) Fischl, Levi Tegeler, Ariana Brondyke, Ryan and Elizabeth Kramer, Beatrice and Leo Kramer, Madolyn and Violet Rosburg, and Henry Zacholski; two brothers, Vincent (Wilma) Hoogheem of Clinton, IA and LaVerne (Pat) Hoogheem of Breckenridge, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; one grandson, Brent Senior; three brothers, Edward Hoogheim, Lawrence Hoogheem, and Art Hoogheem.
