Obituary for Harriet Wierema
HARRIET PESSMAN WIEREMA, 94, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Phoenix.Harriet was born October 3, 1919, in Fulton, IL, to Louis and Agnes (Wilkens) Pessman. She married Howard Wierema on December 30, 1941 in Sterling, IL. He died on July 22, 2010. After marriage they moved to Morrison, IL, where she was a full time mother of seven daughters and the office manager for Wierema Well Drilling. Later she worked at General Electric in Morrison. The family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1965, where she then worked at Honeywell. After retiring, she and Howard took a year to travel around the whole United States. Then they built a second home in Tonto Basin, Arizona where they lived until moving back to Phoenix. Harriet was a former member of the Morrison Christian Reformed Church, and a member of the Christ Community Church in Phoenix, where she belonged to the Mary Martha Circle. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ for her family and her church. She is survived by seven daughters, Sharon (Merle) Reisenbigler of Morrison, IL, Lois (Steve) Andrews of Ocean Port, NJ, Vi Jones, Betty Martin, Ellen (Carl) Smith, Carol (John) Ledger and Marie Wierema, all of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren, and one step great-great grandson; one sister, Ella Kramer of Morrison.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; two sisters, Julie Beveroth and Dorothy Kramer; two brothers, Homer Pessman and Lewis Pessman.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There was a memorial service at 10:30 A.M. on December 28, 2013 at the Christ Community Church in Glendale, AZ.
