Obituary for Vi Thudium
VI THUDIUM, 95, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the nursing home. Vi was born on November 19, 1916, to Fred and Ida L. (Miller) Vander Schaaf, in Fulton, IL. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Morrison High School. On September 26, 1936 she married Elmer Workman in Morrison, IL. She later married Cornelius "Charles" Overwater on December 30, 1945 in Chicago, IL. He died June 18, 1952. On March 14, 1953 she married William F. Thudium in Chicago, IL. He died August 7, 1992. Vi was employed at the former I.C.A. in Morrison, in assembly. While in Chicago she worked for the Railroad Retirement Board as a clerk, and also worked at the Wieboldt Department Store in the credit office. Lastly she worked at Clow Plumbing Company in Oakbrook, IL. Vi was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, and also a member of the Chadwick American Legion Auxiliary Unit #739, where she was a past president. She crocheted many lap robes and wheel chair caddies for the Veteran"s Hospitals. Vi served as an election judge for Fairhaven Township. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Philip) Hall of Cypress, TX; one son, Charles (Darlene) Thudium of Golden CO; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Emilie Workman of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Overwater and William Thudium; one son, Robert Workman; two brothers, Lee Vander Schaaf and Duane Vander Schaaf.
