Obituary for Robert Mike McClary
ROBERT MICHAEL "MIKE" MCCLARY, 68, of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at his home. Mike was born February 20, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Roy and Mildred (Wosoba) McClary. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1961 and during school, he was involved in basketball, football, and track. Mike married Bonnie Johnson in October of 1970 in Clinton, IA. He first worked for Central Engineering, then Central Valley, and for McCarthy Civil Engineering, Prophet, and Foley. He was a member of Union 150 as an operating engineer for over 40 years. Mike enjoyed playing pool and cards with friends, watching sports on TV or attending sporting events, and doing puzzles. He was very creative and was able to design his own home. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Indianpolis Colts fan. He enjoyed his 3 grandchildren, watching them play sports or anything they were involved in. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Stephanie Hochbaum of Fulton, IL; one son, Mike (Jenny) McClary of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, Christian Meggers, Cole McClary, and Andrew McClary; his half brother, Roy "Buddy" (Janet) McClary, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA; an aunt, Nola Wosoba of Clinton, IA formerly of Fulton; many cousins and two nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan McClary; his parents, his stepmother, Vera McClary; grandparents, a special aunt, Lottie; his uncle, Alvin "Skip" Skipper, Sr, who helped raise Mike; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
