Obituary for Dale L. Dykema
DALE L. DYKEMA, 74, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Dale was born March 27, 1937, in Galesburg, IL, to Victor J. and Josephine (Voss) Dykema. He was educated in the Hiddleson Grade School of rural Whiteside County and graduated from Morrison High School. He married Marian J. Keizer on July 11, 1959, in Morrison. Dale was employed for 30 years at General Electric Co. in Morrison, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Morrison Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon and elder. Dale enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife, Marian; one daughter, Sara (Gene) Medendorp of Morrison, IL; one son, Scott (Sherry) Dykema of Warsaw, IN; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jodi Medendorp; two sisters, Joan (Robert) Jackson of Phoenix, AZ and Barb (Allen) Bush of Morrison, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Renee Westlund.
