Obituary for Bernice D. Klavenga
BERNICE D. KLAVENGA, 85, of 1010 12th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Bernice was born February 22, 1922 in Fulton, IL, to John and Fredreka (Zaagman) Klavenga. She was educated in the Fulton Christian grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School in 1940. She was employed as a seamstress at the Clinton Garment Company in Clinton, IA, retiring in 1984. Bernice was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, a member of the Christian Women"s Club and a member of the Local 303 Ladies Garment Worker"s Union both in Clinton, IA. She loved gardening, crafts, and playing cards with her family. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Anna Braun, Mrs. Angeline Miley, and Clara Klavenga all of Fulton, IL; one brother, Henry (Genevieve) Klavenga of Fulton, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Martin, and Ike Klavenga.
